August 25 & 26, 2012
Spend two days with botanical illustrators Jeanne Debons and Catherine Alexander in the old-growth forests and alpine meadows of the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest. Learn to identify and illustrate native conifer species while viewing the wildlife and scenery in one of Oregon’s most majestic and pristine settings. Art instruction will take place en plein air at the Wallowa State Park and a guided day hike on the Wallowa Lake Trail (easy to moderate) will bring you close to nature!
Cost: $195 for the workshop and $25 for optional guided field studies along the High Wallowa Loop Trail (moderate, high elevation) on Monday, August 27. Supply list and $10 materials fee. Lodging and meals are separate. For a list of area lodging options, visit www.wallowalake.net and www.fs.usda.gov/wallowa- whitman. For more information or to register for the workshop, email Catherine at sorrelstudio@gmail.com or call 503-302-4645. Thank you!
