Be sure to bring your completed paperwork with you and the requested materials on CD. Feel free to contact Catherine if you have questions.

We should have a promotional poster for the panel discussion completed soon, which we’ll convert to an ecard and send to you to share with your friends, colleagues and collectors.

Wildflower Viewing at Silver Falls

This is a great time to see the wildflowers at Silver Falls State Park. Good trails for viewing them are the Howard Creek Loop Trail and Buck Mountain Loop Trail. There are less people on these than on the Trail of the Ten Falls. They're multi-use and still muddy so bring waterproof boots and look out for equestrians and mountain bikers. WALLOWA NATURE ILLUSTRATION WORKSHOP

August 25 & 26, 2012

Spend two days with botanical illustrators Jeanne Debons and Catherine Alexander in the old-growth forests and alpine meadows of the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest. Learn to identify and illustrate native conifer species while viewing the wildlife and scenery in one of Oregon’s most majestic and pristine settings. Art instruction will take place en plein air at the Wallowa State Park and a guided day hike on the Wallowa Lake Trail (easy to moderate) will bring you close to nature!

Cost: $195 for the workshop and $25 for optional guided field studies along the High Wallowa Loop Trail (moderate, high elevation) on Monday, August 27. Supply list and $10 materials fee. Lodging and meals are separate. For a list of area lodging options, visit www.wallowalake.net and www.fs.usda.gov/wallowa-whitman. For more information or to register for the workshop, email Catherine at sorrelstudio@gmail.com or call 503-302-4645.  Thank you!
